March was the month we reignited our infamous POSH Club Events.
Our first POSH Club Cruise was a 6-night glorious getaway from Sydney to Hobart. The POSH Package included free Wi-Fi, as well as the Classic Drinks Package and 2 speciality dining dinners. Our guests were also treated to an exclusive Tasman Tour & Lunch, much to their delight!
Day 1 – Meet at The Star, Sydney
The day had finally arrived! It was time to meet up with 44 of our POSH Club Members in Sydney at the Star Grand Hotel in Pyrmont. We welcomed our special guests with a dinner at Cucina Porto, where we ate a sumptuous Italian meal and became acquainted with one another. It was such a wonderful opportunity for our POSH guests to mingle with our ecruising team from Sydney, as well as our sales, product and marketing team members who flew up from the Gold Coast.
Day 2 – Board Celebrity Eclipse
We woke up this morning with an exciting day planned ahead. Starting the day off right, we had the pleasure of tasting the abundant and delicious breakfast at the Harvest Buffet. The Star Grand sure know how to feed their guests. Our bellies were now well prepared for next few days of cruise life!
Our group, including myself and Tulane, my fellow ecruising host, were transferred to The Rocks where the magnificent Celebrity Eclipse lay waiting for our arrival. After a very smooth check-in, we made our way onboard. Our guests were then led to the ecruising hospitality desk, which was set up in Guest Relations for questions, Wi-Fi accessibility assistance and many wonderful conversations. We even had some lovely chats with other POSH Club members, who were coincidently on the same cruise. (The ‘stowaways’ even scored an invite to our POSH Club Cocktail Party!).
That evening, we gathered on the Sun Deck for a group drink and Sail Away. What a delight to sail past the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House as the sun was setting. Dinner was at leisure and it was early to bed for many of us – but not for some revellers
Day 3 – At sea
Today we got to enjoy a glorious day at sea, sitting by the pool relaxing or involving oneself in the many activities onboard. That evening we invited our guests to our exclusive POSH Club Cocktail Party, with plenty of drinks in hand, cruise stories to be heard and fun prizes to be won.
Dinner followed at the first of our two speciality dining experiences. We split into two groups and were treated to a exquisite dinner at either the French inspired Murano (lobster was on the menu, cooked at the table!) or the delectable Italian Tuscan Grill. We were then free to watch the entertaining shows onboard, enjoy the plethora of bars, venues, activities, and even do some late-night shopping!
Day 4 – Overnight in Hobart
This morning, we sailed into the wonderful port of Hobart. We disembarked as a group and boarded our exclusive bus for a guided tour around the Tasman Peninsula. We saw spectacular coastlines, fascinating geological features, ate a sumptuous lunch in Lufra and visited the historic Port Arthur. We returned to the ship feeling fulfilled with memories to last a lifetime. We were then able to spend the evening relaxing onboard after such an exhausting but special day.
Day 5 - Hobart
On Monday morning we were free to roam Hobart as we pleased. Many of us took the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tours, some went further afield, and others indulged in some fresh oysters on the wharf. Another Sail Away was experienced as we left the shores of beautiful historic Tasmania and began heading north. Our culinary journey continued onboard and many of us joined tables with other cruisers at the Moonlight Sonata. This complimentary restaurant had a menu that was so incredibly delicious, and it was so much fun to meet people from all over the world at the shared tables.
Day 6 – Final day at sea
Tuesday was another magical day spent at sea, the weather could not have been kinder to us. The rhythm and flow of the ship was soothing, there was nowhere to go and nothing to worry about. The hardest choice of the day was whether to get a massage, play bocce, learn how to blow glass, get competitive in a tournament, test our knowledge in trivia, get the heart racing in a fitness class or attend an art auction – the list goes on and on! That evening we experienced our final speciality dining dinner. It was our last supper together, leaving us feeling a little sombre as much as it was delightful.
To our ‘Forty Four’ – thank you for your great company, thank you for the laughs and the endless stories.
Until we meet again……
